LindaRD, Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Counsels People from Brentwood, Contra Costa County, CA

by

Linda, a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, was glad to work with a lovely couple from Brentwood, CA. Their daughter Rachel called Linda, a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, to help with her mom and dad’s diet. Rachel was very concerned about their poor eating habits and neglect of their health. They both have uncontrolled high blood pressure even though they are on medication. They are overweight and enjoy eating in the many Brentwood restaurants. They own several farms in Brentwood and are very well known in the Brentwood community. Rachel, along with her parents, came to my office in Alamo that is only 30 miles away from Brentwood.

I set up a meal plan for Harry and Jane based on their favorite foods. I told them to enjoy a Brentwood restaurant meal each day and have the opposite meals be salt free and healthy. I showed them that all breads, cheeses and processed foods have a large amount of sodium. If they would consume their own produce from their Brentwood farm such as the potatoes, veggies and fruits they will have no salt. If they purchase in Brentwood their grains that are salt free such as whole wheat couscous, quinoa, brown rice and whole wheat pasta they can have meals along with their veggies that have hardly any salt. They can add spices such as lemon pepper, garlic, onions, wine, lemon juice and herbs. They can create salads from the wonderful produce in Brentwood and add their own dressing made with oil and vinegars.

Linda, Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, enjoyed talking with this couple about their lovely Brentwood community. Brentwood is known throughout the Bay Area for its agricultural products, primarily its cherries, peaches and corn. Brentwood now has an extension of John Muir Hospital along with terrific access to physicians of all expertise.

Linda, Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, will continue counseling Harry and Jane thru e-mail and Skype from their lovely home in Brentwood.
