The initial session will be followed by another one (half hour to one hour), where Linda will see how the meal plan is working and see how you are doing. The meeting will be conducted in person or by Phone and E-mail. The session will continue to customize the plan with specific portion sizes and come up with the best food combinations for each meal and snack.
Based on your needs and awareness level, Linda will take you step by step to understand the specifics of the food label that many educated people miss. We will make sure that you are not skimping on protein and fiber during the day and are having the starches at the right time of the day.
Our meal plan will help you to prevent the low blood sugars that can make you feel sick for many hours and will prevent that low energy, low blood sugar feeling in the afternoons. We will also make sure you are not famished at dinner time and end up eating the large dinners and late night snacks that can derail any sensible meal plan.
Linda will ask you to tell her about social events planned at a restaurant or at a friend’s home and together you will walk through the event with her as if you are both there. You will cover spontaneous events that occur in your life and discuss possible actions. Linda will teach you new strategies on how to make good choices which will provide a high level of confidence to continue to do well – essential ingredients for long term success.
After this session, Linda will continue monitoring your progress with the new and exciting meal plan through Nutrition Education Follow-ups.
